The Victorian Needlepoint Dolls - designed in 1995 - is the first selection of its kind available for your enjoyment. They may be finished as a needlepoint pillow inserts or cushions - and framed.

The design allows space to write the name of your favorite *doll* in the space below - or just leave it blank.

Pearl ( a tad twisted ) - is truly lovely when well worked.

The Scotch Stitch is popular - because it is extremely attractive and versatile.

Usually used as a background stitch - for filling around a central design - it may be used by itself or in combination with other needlepoint stitches to form interesting patterns.

We recommend this stitch - as an interesting alternative to a flat - plain - rather visually monotonous and a bit boring to work - cross stitch. You may want to consider applying the straight cross stitches around the designs - to create a subtle aura.

Depending on your skills - we also suggest using a frame while stitching with the scotch stitch - - it is one of the greatest canvas biasers of all time.

In addition to the frame - be sure you you stitch with a slightly loose tension. You are literally tying - pulling - the canvas into a slanted position as you stitch - and if stitched tightly - there will be no hope of ever blocking it straight. We made this mistake - on this first design - as you can see !!
