Designer Needlepoint - this Samantha Taylor Needlepoint Design is titled - *The Proclaimer* - One of the Four Central Motifs from Our Spanish Historical Needlepoint Collection Known as Trades of Talavera

*The Proclaimer* Needlepoint Design - is one of the Four Central Motifs from Our Trades of Talavera Needlework Collection. Dressed in the historical country peasant fashion - The Proclaimer could be also named The Town Crier or The Reveler. Containing 19 different colors - each area of this design - was painfully developed - translating painted strokes into constrained dots of colored fibers until successfully reproducing the appearance of a painted tile into yarn. The touches of tangerine are a perfect example of triangulation  - so important in the classical compositions.

In the detail photograph above - we show you the colors of this design - although a bit darker than they truly are.

The balanced stance of the Proclaimer in yet such a relaxed body tension draws any observer into his inside world. The very pale peach - yellow and ancient blue background colors were successfully chosen to reproduce the luminosity of the Talavera paints. The stylized clouds repeat the four shades of blues found in the Proclaimer shirt.

Successfully adding a tad more perspective to this tile painting - gave a nice dimension - while retaining the original naive effect. This Design may also be finished as a pillow or cushion - as well as a firescreen.
